Surveillance Cameras are known as CCTV systems. Cameras are important but they are not the most important part of a CCTV system. When purchasing a CCTV system the buyer must consider the types of cameras, the location of cameras, the camera video recorders and even the type of cable that goes from the camera to the recorder. In order for the CCTV system to be of value and worth to the buyer.
The CCTV System must meet your needs and requirements. These needs must be determined prior to the types of cameras, what the camera must see and at what location the camera must do the observation from. The buyer must determine where the recorder or recorders will reside. The needs and requirements of the CCTV equipment must be discussed with the installer or representative of the CCTV sales provider. At the meeting the buyer must make his or her needs known to the CCTV representative.
Discuss;
the problems and the areas of problems,
what do you need,
locations to be cover,
what type of coverage, fine detail, etc, etc.
what type of final budget available,
have an open view to offers suggested by provider.
Review and discuss installation options.
As for budgets, know that some areas can be surveyed by less expensive cameras and your expensive cameras can cover those critical areas. In some locations, expense can be lowered by using Black & White cameras to cover some areas. The use of Black & White compared to Color cameras can often save you hundreds of dollars off your budget. The provider will draw an outline of camera locations and the square footage covered by them. The drawing can be used as part of your final installation contract page. When the final contract is presented you must have a full understanding of what is being offered. The installation of a CCTV system can be installed with Black & White cameras covering the minor areas. Such Black & White cameras can replaced with Color cameras when the budget improves.
There are numerous advantages to having surveillance cameras throughout the retail area of a business. Customer service always improves, customer complaints go down when they know they are on camera. Customers will not attempt to short change an employee at the cash register. Employees will be more courteous to customers when they know the customer can complain and used the CCTV system to verify any complaints. Sexual advance lawsuits brought about by female customers will disappear. Nuisance lawsuits by injury claims will definitely disappear. Your CCTV cameras will be on record of any injury events occurring during business hours.
Any video recorded by your cameras will have time and date on the image. Such recording will be considered Court evidence in any U.S. Court house. The cost of any CCTV surveillance camera system will pay for itself very quickly.
The most important goal of all businesses is the manufacturing or production of profit.
Without profit businesses fail. When the economy gets down and things look bad to the world at large that's when people begin to fail working properly for your goals. By maximizing workplace operations we can secure our goal of profit production.
Surveillance cameras can help you continue on your way to profit. Surveillance cameras can control an employees time and production without creating an annoyance of the overseer. The surveillance cameras can prevent employees stealing office supplies, surfing the INTERNET, giving away your merchandise at the cash registers, removing and stealing through the back door.
Surveillance cameras will allow to find out who screws off, who hides from work and who is a thief. Such people are drains for your company, as companies are now facing low sales and economic downturns you can identify who will be laid off and or cut. Their inability to complete work will no longer be tolerated.
Surveillance cameras allow business managers and owners, the ability to watch the business operations throughout the day. From the comfort of the computer screen, business managers have the ability to view the complete day's operation. Surveillance cameras encourage employees to use work hours wisely to produce profit. Cameras promote good work ethics.
NOTE : Business managers and owners must be aware of legal issues and laws to restrict areas where cameras can be installed.
Never install cameras in employee changing rooms.
Never install cameras in any bathrooms.
Never install cameras in your Human Resources room where documents may observed via the camera.
Never install cameras where
medical records are kept. This is a major violation of Federal
Law.
Never install cameras where private matters of
employees occur. Do not video tape anything that could cause or raise
a legal concern.
Never used video with the likeness of employees to promote or
advertise your business.
Remember surveillance cameras allow you
to manage with a soft hand. Cameras always help you insure an
efficient operation of your business.
